Dear Infrastructure and Sustainability team,

I received another reminder over the past week of why I’m so honored to be able to lead our organization. I make a point of seeking updates on the great work you do for our campus and the projects you have going at any time. That said, I don’t always get to experience that work first-hand and see you in action. I experienced just that, however, last week as team members from multiple Infrastructure and Sustainability departments helped orchestrate a series of office moves in the 914 Broadway administrative building on Main Campus. 

Multiple Strategic Resources and Support senior leaders -- including myself -- and others supporting them had their office locations shuffled to optimize proximity of the team. While such moves seem at first glance to be simple tasks, anyone who has moved offices knows it can be quite a disruption to their work, which must go on even if their belongings are packed in boxes. Our I&S team made this transition as smooth as possible for those involved. 

From Stacy Lindholm with Planning, Design and Construction, who led the planning and coordination, to those from our Facilities Operations and Services groups who actually executed the moves, I got to witness as a customer the great professionalism and service you provide. The moving and hauling team of Randy Koch, Scott Crowley, Harlan Julian, Javier De La Cruz and Frank Galindo and the carpentry team of Jon Schneider and Dillon Senger, who recently promoted into our trades apprentice program from deskside recycling, put a wonderful face on our department as they moved administrators from one office to the next. And I know there are others who did the same in support of this project. 

These efforts represent the type of service that I know is being provided countless times per day every day across our campus. And yet witnessing it first-hand makes it really hit home just what a great group of people we have in Infrastructure and Sustainability. I’m always appreciative of how deeply you care about your roles in supporting this university.

Biking or skiing at Eldora with my boy Cash.

Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
I was a ski bum up in Winter Park for 8 years. Tele and Nordic.

I worked as a stagehand in Seattle, setting up concerts, festivals, and special events in the 90’s and 00’s, while performing in late night comedy shows.

What do I love about CU º£½ÇÉçÇø?
Being outside, taking in all the beauty that this campus has to offer. While never having to do any homework.

Are you a die-hard fan of anything?
Notre Dame Football

Computer Literacy Class is back for I&S staff and we are seeking classroom volunteers. All volunteers are welcome. We are especially in need of Spanish or Lao speakers. Students will practice in detail with the MyCUinfo interface, Outlook email, typing and Microsoft Word. Students in the program will be issued a Chromebook for the duration of the program.
