A trio of employee appreciation events are upcoming this month and open to all Infrastructure and Sustainability staff. Please make arrangements with your supervisor to attend during work hours.

• The Infrastructure and Sustainability Employee Appreciation and Awards Luncheon is slated for Thursday, Dec. 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held on Main Campus at the Center for Community (C4C) dining hall. All I&S staff and student employees are invited. Bring your Buff OneCard for entry.
• I&S is sponsoring a "Home for the Holidays" edition of CU on Fridays this Friday, Dec. 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Connection on first floor of the University Memorial Center. Bring your Buff OneCard for entry. There will be a gingerbread house decorating contest, free chili and cornbread, and free bowling and billiards. This event is open to all CU staff and their families.
• CU Staff Council is hosting a university-wide staff appreciation breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the Glenn Miller Ballroom at the UMC. The event is open to all university staff. Bring your Buff OneCard for entry. Donations for Emergency Family Assistance Association of �������� County (EFAA) will be accepted as part of this event.

Did you hear? CU ��������'s waste diversion rate topped 50 percent during the 2018 fiscal year for the first time in school history. Such efforts take university-wide collaboration, and multiple departments within Infrastructure and Sustainability have been integral to the initiative. Congrats to all who have, and continue to, make an impact in this realm!

With Governor Hickenlooper issuing an additional holiday for state employees, Chancellor Philip DiStefano announced that the additional holiday for the CU �������� campus will be Monday, Dec. 31. Dec. 24 and 25 and Jan. 1 are already designated campus holidays. All permanent employees will receive eight hours of holiday pay to be used on these days, prorated for part time. If you are designated as essential services personnel (required to work on any of these dates), please make sure you coordinate with, and receive the approval of, your supervisor in rescheduling your alternate holiday(s). The Jennie Smoly Caruthers Biotechnology Building E-Wing addition has landed another construction industry award. The Associated General Contractors of Colorado recently awarded general contractor Adolfson and Peterson Construction the award for Best Building Project--General Contractor ($10 million to $40 million category) at its annual ACE Awards Gala. Congrats to all of our Infrastructure and Sustainability staff who helped make this project a success!
