Registration is now open for the 2017-18 edition of the Infrastructure & Safety Mentor Program. Twenty-seven mentor team pairs completed the program last year. Now entering its sixth year, the ISMP is designed to provide Infrastructure and Safety staff with an opportunity for both professional and personal development through a variety of self-directed activities as mentor team participants.Ìý. The deadline to register is Aug. 31.

Starting with new student move-in on Aug.Ìý20, Fall Welcome continues through Sept.Ìý1 with more than 200 events.ÌýAs a Fall Welcome volunteer, staff have the unique opportunity to be one of the first to greet new students. This opportunity qualifies for use of CU granted volunteer hours (time code VOLU). Please check with your supervisor for approval before signing up.

During the month of July, the º£½ÇÉçÇø City Council, º£½ÇÉçÇø Planning Board, º£½ÇÉçÇø County Commissioners and º£½ÇÉçÇø County Planning Commission all signed off on land-use designation changes for CU º£½ÇÉçÇø South, a 308-acre parcel of land at the city's southern gateway off of U.S. 36. While is still a long-term proposition, the approved land-use changes open the door for annexation talks between CU º£½ÇÉçÇø and the city to begin.ÌýCongrats to everyone in Real Estate Services and Planning, Design and Construction who played a role in these efforts in recent months.

July 27 marked the first Infrastructure and Safety Inclusive Excellence Committee (ISIEC) retreat. Special thanks to Amy Moreno at campus HR for facilitating the Inclusive Excellence workshop. A hearty thanks goes out to the more than 130 staff members from Infrastructure & Safety who volunteered on July 27 and helped make our department's annual day of service leading up to Fall Welcome a success. Work included mulching, painting handrails, sticker removal, º£½ÇÉçÇø Creek clean-up, recycling enclosure/dock clean up and paper sorting.Ìý A photo gallery from the day is here.

The annual CU Facilities Management Golf Tournament is Aug. 31 at Buffalo Run Golf Course in Commerce City. The $85 registration fee includes breakfast, lunch, 18 holes, practice balls, cart and prizes. Each foursome needs at least one CU representative on the team. The deadline to apply for both the employee and dependent tuition benefits for Fall 2017 classes on the CU º£½ÇÉçÇø campus is Aug. 14. Qualified employees can receive tuition waiver assistance for up to nine credit hours per year. Dependents of CU º£½ÇÉçÇø employees, meanwhile, can receive 30 percent off tuition at the º£½ÇÉçÇø campus. The dependent tuition discount is an increase from the 20 percent off that was offered previously. More information and forms are available at .

The cooler temperatures have given the air a distinct football feel in recent days. Did you know that CU employees who have at least a 50 percent appointment (meaning you work half-time or more) can get a 20 percent discount on season football tickets? for all of the info, and then get your favorite gameday sweatshirt ready. The CUPD would like to remind everyone that the LifeLine Response smartphone app is available for free to CU º£½ÇÉçÇø employees.ÌýThis safety app includes two features designed to provide the user with ways to call for help in case of an emergency.
