Integrated Pest Manager Troy Muller traveled to Baltimore the week of March 19 for the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Symposium. While there, he and other attendees made a day trip to Washington for IPM Advocacy Day (March 22)��to meet with staff for their respective Congressional representatives��to discuss the importance of IPM programs and practices in schools. Troy met with top aides for Rep. Diana DeGette and Sen. Michael Bennet of Colorado. He informed the group not only about CU ��������'s��IPM practices and unique approach to solving pest problems without use of restricted pesticides, but also about the need for IPM programs in more school districts in Colorado, where only 17 districts currently utilize such programs.

Two Infrastructure and Sustainability departments have won campus sustainability awards, and two I&S individuals have landed special recognition. The awardees will be recognized at the April 25 . The annual awards program recognizes outstanding individuals and departments who demonstrate a sincere commitment to transforming the CU �������� campus into a living laboratory for sustainability. The Distribution Center and the Department of Environmental Health and Safety have both earned departmental achievement awards, while Kayla Adair and Steven Stuart from Campus Building Services have earned special recognition. The Infrastructure and Sustainability Inclusive Excellence Committee invites you to the first “It’S��Friday” event on Friday, April 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Environmental Health and Safety Room 220. The appreciation event is opened to all I&S employees and is an opportunity to connect with EH&S and better understand the department's role on campus. Lunch, including vegetarian options, will be catered from Half Fast Subs, and EH&S leadership will make a short presentation about their division. The��ISIEC committee's intent is to stage one such event each quarter. Please RSVP if you plan to attend the April 13 event to ISIEC@colorado.edu.

Staff Council is celebrating its 45th year of partnering with Bonfils Blood Centers with its set for April 10-12. The event will take place each of those three days from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Student Recreation Center Ice Overlook Room. There will also be a Bonfils bus on East Campus on Wednesday, April 11 from 9 to 10:40 a.m. and noon to 2:30 p.m. Oh, yeah, and cake will be served and t-shirts handed out for all donors.��
